Valenta Named CSC Academic All-American

GREENWOOD, Indiana – UTEP rifle’s Carlee Valenta was voted to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Women’s At-Large Academic All-America® Third Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Valenta maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA while majoring in Education and Community Studies, earning recognition as one of the nation’s top student-athletes for excellence both in the classroom and in competition.

Earlier this year, Valenta earned CSC Academic All-District® honors after combining outstanding academic success with one of the strongest air rifle seasons in program history. She was also named to the 2026 Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholastic All-America Team while collecting Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal and Academic Honor Roll accolades for the second consecutive year.

On the range, Valenta garnered CRCA Second Team All-America honors in air rifle, becoming part of UTEP’s first All-America selections in 14 years. She posted a team-best 596.3 average in air rifle, led the Miners in the discipline six times and recorded a score of 593 or higher in every match during the 2025-26 season. Her performances helped guide UTEP to a third-place finish in air rifle at the Patriot Rifle Conference Championships.
